Residential Treatment Center
Children with behavioral or emotional problems need a safe, cheerful, and structured place to work things out. Our Residential Treatment Center provides just that.
The people we serve:
Up to 44 boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 15.
Children who need "out-of-home" placement.
Children with and without families.
How the program works:
The Central Placement Team of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families refers children to the program.
Children must have a diagnosed behavioral or emotional condition.
Less restrictive treatment settings must be insufficient.
Children must have exceeded their family's ability to provide care and their school's ability to address their needs.
They must be minimally willing and able to follow rules.
They must not need a locked unit or hospital.
When family reunification is the goal, the family must support treatment.
Care and therapy is provided year round; some children spend weekends at home, if appropriate.
A spiritual life program is available
