Parent Aide Program
Not everyone is a natural born parent. This program teaches strong parenting skills in order to prevent child abuse and/or neglect.
The people we serve:
Parents
Their children
How the program works:
The Department of Children and Families make referrals to the program.
Parent Aide services strengthen families and prevent child abuse and/or neglect by teaching parenting, anger management, communication, and household organization skills.
Parents learn how to provide a safe, nurturing, healthy home environment for their children.
Services focus on family strengths.
Services delivered in a family friendly, culturally competent manner.
Workers provide outreach to families and meet with clients in their homes or in the community for up to two hours a week for six months.
Flexible scheduling of appointments is respectful of families' busy lives.
