Family Visitation Center
In stressful times, it's important for families to stay connected. Our family visitation center fosters this in a safe and structured setting.
The people we serve:
Parents of children in temporary foster care.
Children in foster care.
Their siblings.
How the program works:
The Department of Children and Families (DCF) make referrals to the program. Self-referrals are also welcome.
Program offers a cozy, yet structured setting for children to visit with their biological parents and/ or siblings.
Trained, professional family support workers supervise visits, plan activities, and help parents structure positive, constructive time with their children.
Training in parenting skills and other support services helps families form healthy relationships so children can eventually return home.
Parents participate in weekly parent education/support groups at no cost.
Foster families participate in regular support groups.
