Group Homes
Many adolescents who have been institutionalized need a transitional home. This program provides therapeutic home environments to help them develop life skills.
The children we serve:
Adolescent males and females between the ages of 13 - 18
Children who have experienced severe trauma in their past
Adolescents coming from restrictive residential environments (some formerly placed out of state), but who have been identified as potential candidates to thrive in a smaller therapeutic setting
Teens who will eventually return to their family of origin and/or who may require other supportive environments beyond their stay at the Group Home
How the program works:
The Department of Children and Families makes referrals to the Group Home located within the community.
Staff work to increase their ability to manage day to day challenges, guide them through the healing process, and help them develop the necessary skills to thrive in the community.
Group Home residents are involved in the day to day tasks of running the home and play an integral role in planning activities.
A child's family is a welcomed resource. When reunification is a goal, families are expected to be involved in the treatment process.
Psychiatric evaluation, treatment and medication management is offered by our trained and certified staff. The group home clinician provides individual, group and family treatment.
